KYODO Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroshi Saito; hereinafter “Kyodo”) has accepted the hobby purpose engine business transfer agreement with Husqvarna Zenoah Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kawagoe-shi, Saitama Prefecture, Representative Director: Anna Pauline Elizabeth Nilsson, hereinafter “Husqvarna Zenoah”) with the licensing agreement of the Zenoah brand for this hobby purpose engine business. Based upon this agreement, Kyodo plans to start manufacturing Zenoah-branded hobby purpose, engines and supplying spare parts from January 2025.

KYODO is a global company, expanding the business around the world with strengths in the manufacturing of the production parts and components for outboard engines, construction machinery and agricultural machinery by utilizing own production, procurement and sales facilities located in the U.S.A., Taiwan, Thailand, and Brazil.

Recently, KYODO has prepared a Mid-Term Business Strategy aiming business expansion. This business transfer of the hobby-purpose engines is a part of this Business Expansion Strategies of Kyodo.

The Zenoah branded hobby-purpose engines were developed in 1983, utilizing the technology of chainsaws and general-purpose engines, and has established a strong position in the global hobby market since then. Particularly, on the application of radio-controlled cars, boats, airplanes and helicopters have been supported by many hobby enthusiasts around the world due to their high performances.

KYODO will produce these high quality and high performance engines by own production facilities in Japan and will supply them under the Zenoah brand to meet the customer demands.

These hobby-purpose engines will be lined up from 22.5 cc to 79.9 cc, total of 23 models. Also 17 kinds of Kits including the “Bore size increasing Kit” will be prepared.

KYODO will continue making effort to introduce the Zenoah branded hobby-purpose engines to the market, and furthermore, will challenge to create new business area such as Drone market by improving own engine technologies.
